An annotated catalogue of lichens and lichenicolous fungi of the Algarve (Portugal) is presented. It is based on a literature survey as well as on many records from recent fieldwork. For each taxon, references are listed according to the distribution region within the province. Three species are decribed as new, Lecania juniperi, Lichenopeltella heppiae and Waynea algarvensis. Peterjamesia sorediata has been identified. Amandinea oleicola is an accepted taxon from the Amandinea punctata group. Eight species are newly recorded for Europe, Caloplaca dakotensis, Caloplaca stanfordensis, Canoparmelia aptata, Lecanora sabinae, Parmotrema grayanum, Peltula psammophila, Ramalina huei and Sagiolechia atlantica.
